days fly by and holidays approach, time to search for unique
gifts at reasonable prices grows short. This year, stressed
holiday shoppers can save time and dollars while finding designer
goods at near-wholesale prices in the LA Fashion District,
thanks to the Urban Shopping Adventures “Holiday Shopping
Tour.” This unique service takes individuals and groups
out to shop the LA Fashion District for trendy designer clothing,
eye-catching accessories and costume jewelry plus the latest
cosmetics and holiday décor. Urban Shopping Adventures
makes everyone feel like a fashion insider, guiding guests
to the best streets and into the best stores for selected
finds.
New this holiday season, company founder Christine Silvestri
has combed the District for a special list of “Hidden
Holiday Gems,” suggesting great gift ideas for $50 and
under. Tour guides point out locations for each item as part
of the holiday shopping tour. A printed list of items and
locations is provided to each tour-goer. The Holiday Shopping
Tour also includes some of the basic amenities found on all
Urban Shopping Adventures tours, including a five-minute “shopping
school” orientation and a sturdy shopping bag loaded
with a full color map guide, a list of insider shopping terms,
a mini-map of the day’s tour route with restaurant and
snack ideas, and some special coupon offers from District
vendors—even a free t-shirt voucher!
Several tour packages are available including, the “Walking
Adventure” option, in which two or more shoppers meet
their guide at the company’s LA Fashion District office,
saving the added cost of tour transportation. For larger groups,
the “Mini-Shuttle Adventure” includes transportation
for groups numbering from 15 to 24; the “Luxury Coach
Adventure” offers a full-sized coach for groups from
40 to 57, and the “Custom Concierge Adventure”
provides highly personalized service with pre-reserved appointments
and a limousine option. Additional features are available
such as scheduling a group lunch at one of several trendy
Downtown eateries for a fixed price.
Shopping enthusiasts may consider a themed adventure idea
and make a real party out of the day, with party favors and
other festive elements tailored to the holidays, or even a
bridal shopping and “bachelorette” party.
The LA Fashion District is known for its great buys in purses,
scarves, hats and other accessories, as well as women’s
apparel, junior contemporary and menswear. Textiles and trim
abound, and with the Los Angeles Flower Market nearby, there
are many surrounding shops offering unusual items for decorating
and holiday trim.
Walking tours typically last from two to three hours, at a
cost of $28 per person. Other tour package prices vary depending
on group size, transportation needs and times. Urban Shopping

LA Fashion District BID (Business Improvement District). All
